At KRING Technologies we view our employees as being our strongest asset, and we therefore acknowledge the importance of emphasizing both their personal and professional development.
We put a lot of focus on continuous training and education. An example of this is a four-day Project Management Training course, which was held in October 2007. The course was conducted by AstroWix India Project Solutions Pvt. Ltd. and the aim of the programme was to cover everything from the most basic to the more advanced project management principles.
The course included such aspects as Project Management Framework, Time, Cost and Quality Management, Human Resource Management, Project Communications Management, Project Risk Management, and Professional Responsibility & Ethics.
A total of 18 employees - with varying levels of experience - participated in the course, including Project Managers, Solution Architects, Team Leads, Senior Software Engineers, System Analysts and Technical Writers. The participants were very pleased with the PMP Training and it was an overall success in that the participants found it extremely beneficial for their work at KRING Technologies.
Rajat Kumar, Chief Operating Officer, KRING India explains:
“Project Management as a discipline largely depends upon the person who is executing it, even though there are well defined rules and best practices. Project Management also includes a large element of people management and process management. The idea behind giving PMP training to a batch of 15-20 members of staff was to expose them to the well defined rules and best practices, so that as individuals they can align their Project Management ways and capabilities to the defined Project Management practices. We also included people in the programme who do not currently have Project Management responsibility. The idea behind involving them was to try to make them aware of what it takes to successfully deliver a project from a management point of view, and show how their actions impact the outcome of a project. In brief, we wanted them to see and experience the complete picture of SDLC… We also felt that these individuals have a flair for management and can be potential Project Managers.” |
