TestHuset A/S, KRING Technologies A/S, and SPECIALISTERNE ApS enter collaboration to establish a new “TestCenter”.

The field of testing has - concurrently with increasing demands to quality and efficiency - become a key focus area for most Danish software development companies.

It may prove costly for individual companies to establish their own test competence area. For instance, unless a company is of a certain size, it may not be financially viable for it to have its own fulltime test specialists and licenses for test tools. This is why TestHuset, KRING Technologies, and SPECIALISTERNE have joined forces to establish a brand new and unique concept – the “TestCenter”.

The TestCenter delivers “test as a service” (TAAS) where customers are presented with the opportunity to combine expertise within testing and QA with test execution, and thereby gain access to a highly qualified global pool of test profiles as well as leading test tools and test methods.

Customers can, in other words, ‘hire’ whole test teams for shorter or longer periods of time without themselves having to defray all the relatively high expenses for infrastructure, software, and, not least, recruitment of new testers. As well as being cost effective, the model offers great flexibility and can be considered as ‘test on demand.’

TestHuset offers the most experienced profiles within testing and quality assurance, SPECIALISTERNE provides test consultants with specific competencies within test execution, and KRING Technologies contributes as a global IT consultancy with access to a large number of profiles in its own delivery centers in India and Eastern Europe.

“We have experienced a large demand for Test and QA resources, but have up until now hesitated because we have needed the onsite expertise. With TestHuset and SPECIALISTERNE as close partners, we are now able to offer the full package,” explains Mikael Munck, CEO for KRING Technologies.

Customers who have little experience of structured testing and test procedures will be guided through an establishment phase by TestHuset who has worked for a number of the largest software development divisions in Denmark, including Danske Bank, BRFkredit, SDC, PFA, and Lego. This experience simultaneously constitutes a strong starting point for the individual teams in that TestHuset is also responsible for certification of the TestCenter’s employees in ISEB/ISTQB, which is an internationally recognized de facto standard.

SPECIALISTERNE, whose founder Thorkil Sonne received the Danish IT Award 2008, strongly contribute to the TestCenter with their unique and positive approach to integration of people diagnosed with autism to solve tasks for the business community.

The TestCenter will focus on offering customers access to the market’s best test tools, including the possibility of automating development testing. To support the TestCenter in terms of tools, HP will enter as a partner. In addition to this, the TestCenter is supported by its own self-developed tools, which give developers brand new possibilities within testing.

The official launch of the TestCenter is May 23, 2008 at an open house event where, amongst others, British test guru, Stephen Allott (interviewed in Danish magazine, Computerworld, issue 9 of this year) will give his view on the TestCenter.
